Psychedelic Cauliflower Smoothie
Berries & Cauliflowers on the slot machine
A psychedelic smoothie bowl worthy of a supporting role in the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas movie. Minus the drugs of course but PLUS a laid-back swirl and a secret ingredient for a smoother texture and a wilder ride.
We are using frozen cauliflower as a base to create a smooth smoothie texture without needing to add bananas. Result: a less sugary mix and extra fibre so your psychedelic ride will be calm in stead of a glucose rollercoaster.
This recipe is: gluten-free, refined sugar-free and vegan.
Ingredients for 2
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup frozen raw cauliflower
1 cup plant-based milk (Coconut! Almond! Oats!)
1+1 tbsp tahin (sesame paste)
1 tbsp lime juice
How to
1.
Blend all the ingredients except 1 tbsp tahin in a blender until smooth (there will be some mid-way scraping and stirring involved).
2.
Add more milk should you need to but probably not.
3.
I’m just writing down an extra step because this recipe is very brief otherwise.
4.
Drizzle the rest of the tahin on top, in a kind of snaking way, then make swirls with a toothpick or something else that’s pointy (a screwdriver?)
5.
Top with berries and crunchies (nuts, seeds, shredded coconut etc).
6.
Snort it down (I mean through your mouth with a spoon be responsible pls)
