Hibiscus Ice Tea

A summery bombshell drink

You know I am all for simple recipes with stunning results and this drink is no different. Both colour and refreshment-power are exxxtra. Serve in summer when temperatures get hot! And be careful because this drink is flirty.

This recipe is far from complicated. Actually I hesitated to even add it at all. But then again, who am I to deny you anything.

You can find Hibiscus tea bags in most supermarkets, but if not you could replace them with a simple red fruit tea blend.

This recipe is aiming for “refreshing” more than “filling” by which I mean the flavours are mild and not overly sweet. If you want more of a lemonade add 1 tbsp extra agave syrup.

Ingredients

  • 1 l water

  • 2 bags hibiscus tea (or red fruit tea)

  • 4 sprigs of mint

  • 1 tbsp agave nectar (or more if you like things sweet!)

  • juice of 1 lime

How to

1.

Start by boiling the water for the tea in a water boiler.

2.

In a large heat-proof jug, add the tea bags, water, mint and agave syrup.

3.

Let the tea steep until everything is cooled down to room temperature, then remove the bags and the mint and transfer to the fridge.

4.

Serve with lots of ice, add an extra slice of lime, some strawberries and mint. Then blow a kiss back to it.
